A little about me

 

I am an active composer, whose compositions are primarily solo guitar works. My music has been heard in Concert at: The Cincinnati Guitar Society, Dayton Guitar Fest, CCM’s Something Different, Classical Revolution and House Concerts all over the midwest and as far as North Carolina. With two albums of original classical and classical crossover compositions, my music has reached listeners in 73 countries and 5 continents. 

I earned my BM in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) under the direction of Clare Callahan and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I've also taken masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artists: Oscar Ghiglia, David Russell, Zoran Dukic, Marcin Dylla, Carlos Perez and Johannes Möller  

I studied composition with Terry McQuilken at the University of Oregon, Orchestration at CCM and took private lessons with Jennifer Jolley (Professor of Music Theory and Composition at CUNY Lehman College, President and Co-founder of N.A.N.O. Works Opera Company). 

I humbly give back to the community through the Greater Cincinnati Guitar Society where I served as President from 2013 to 2022. My current role in the Society is Education Director. I am a member and guitar adjudicator for the Ohio Music Educators Association. I served as co-director and guitar faculty for the Summer Youth Guitar Workshop at CCM. I am a dedicated teacher whose students have won both state and regional gold medals through the Royal Conservatory of Music. I currently teach at Indian Springs Academy of Music, The Wyoming Fine Arts Center, Leaves of Learning, Frederick Douglass Elementary, as well as, my Home Studio.
